Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) - Dörtyol

The Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) defines the ship type in which the gas in LNG form is stored and transferred to the transmission network after regasification. Mostly in the world, FSRU ships are berthed at the terminal and vessels carrying LNG approaches the FSRU ship and transfer LNG to this ship. FSRUs are not only used for LNG storage, but as they have a high-pressure system, thus do not need an additional compressor station, they also regasify LNG and transfer it to the transmission network when needed.

Dörtyol FSRU Terminal

Dörtyol FSRU Terminal located in Hatay Dörtyol, which has been put into operation on February 7, 2018, enables the supply of gas from different sources, countries or spot markets without being dependent on pipelines, in line with our goal of ensuring supply and system security with FSRU ships.

Ertuğrul Gazi FSRU

Ertuğrul Gazi, one of BOTAŞ' major investments and the first FSRU ship registered in the Turkish Maritime Registry, was registered in the International Ship Registry on April 3, 2021, and the Turkish flag was raised on the ship. It has been put into operation on June 25, 2021. Its length is 295 meters, its width is 46 meters and it has a 12.5 meters long draft. The vessel has a storage capacity of 170 thousand m3 of LNG, which is equivalent to 110 million Sm3 of natural gas, and a regasification capacity of 28 million Sm3 per day. Ertuğrul Gazi, which has a state-of-the-art regasification infrastructure, is one of the ships with the highest regasification capacity in the world.

Working with an environment friendly technology, Ertuğrul Gazi uses a special liquid called "Glycol Water" instead of sea water during the regasification operations. It carries out the entire operation with its own special technology without coming into contact with sea water. Ertuğrul Gazi, which can provide direct gas transfer to ships and land vehicles, also stands out with its ability to use the stored gas for its own fuel need.
