LNG Operation Management

In 1989, BOTAŞ started to construct Marmara Ereğlisi LNG Terminal, which is regarded as a base load plant and when necessary a means of peak shaving for the gas purchased during LNG import operations. The terminal was put into operation in 1994.

Three main functions of the LNG Terminal, which has a 1,37 million Nm³ per hour gas send out capacity and 3 storage tanks (85.000 m³ capacity for each) are;

• LNG Ship unloading
• The storage of the LNG imported,
• The dispatching of the regasified LNG to Natural Gas Pipeline from Russian Federation to Turkey at required volumes.

Also, LNG can be loaded into the LNG trucks via 3 loading ramps which can be loaded 75 trucks per day in our Terminal since 2002.
