The “IPA 2018 –“ Feasibility of Flare Gas Recovery System at the Marmaraereğlisi LNG Terminal of Petroleum Pipeline Corporation “ project of which BOTAŞ is the beneficiary, has been launched on 22 May 2025 with 100% financing from the European Union.

With a total budget of €245,000, the project aims to assess the Flare Gas Recovery System (FGRS) at the BOTAŞ Marmaraereğlisi LNG Terminal, through engineering and consultancy services carried out by the contractor SOFREGAZ.

The project seeks to evaluate different types of Flare Gas Recovery Systems (FGRS) in LNG terminals from technical, economic, and environmental perspectives, analyze energy efficiency technologies, and identify applicable options for BOTAŞ. Within the scope of the project, a feasibility and recommendation report will be prepared, detailed engineering studies will be conducted, and capacity-building activities will be implemented.
