BOTAŞ started tender process for electricity generation from waste flue gas heat in Sivas.

Within the scope of the project, it is planned to generate approximately 45 GWh of electrical energy annually by establishing an ORC (Organic Rankine Cycle) system from the heat released from the waste flue gas of four gas pressurization turbines in Sivas Compressor Station. At the same time, with this project, in which the amount of waste heat released to the environment will be reduced by 95%, the entire annual electricity need of Sivas Compressor Station will be met. It is targeted to meet approximately 20 % of the total annual electrical energy needed in other facilities of our organization and to contribute to the total installed power of the country in electricity generation.

Our organization, which sets an example in the sector with its environmental policies, sustainability, energy management and efficiency works, received 4 awards in 2019 in Green World Awards, one of the most prestigious international environmental awards in the world, and became the first and only public institution in Türkiye to receive the title of Green World Ambassador.

Our organization was entitled to receive 2 Gold, 3 Silver and 1 Bronze Green World Awards at the 2020 Green World Awards for its investments in Energy Efficiency, Energy Management and Carbon Reduction. In addition, our organization was entitled to receive 4 Green Apple Awards at the Green Apple Awards for 2020, another award organization, organized by The Green Organization. Making our country proud with 10 Environment Awards, BOTAŞ was awarded the title of "Green World Ambassador for 2020" in the international arena as a result of these achievements.
