During the meetings at the Turkish Grand National Assembly SOE Commission, Mr. Burhan Özcan, General Manager of BOTAŞ Petroleum Pipeline Corporation (BOTAŞ), made a statement about the Green World Awards BOTAŞ received.
BOTAŞ, Türkiye's leading organization with its environmental policies, continues to proudly represent our country in the international arena with the awards it received as a result of its activities concerning environment.
The Most Prestigious Environment Award to BOTAŞ
The Green World Awards, one of the most prestigious international environmental awards in the world, organized annually by The Green Organization, are distributed to share the best environmental practices with the whole world in order to set an example. In this context, projects participating from all countries are evaluated by the jury in terms of their environmental aspects and successful projects are awarded with gold, silver and bronze awards.
In 2019, BOTAŞ by receiving 4 awards in one of the world’s most prestigious international environmental awards, Green World Awards, became Türkiye’s pride and earned the right to the title of “Green World Ambassador”
With the Best Environmental Policy BOTAŞ Marked 2020 in the International Arena As Well
Protecting and enriching the environment, BOTAŞ demonstrates its sensitivity to the environment in all areas where it operates and in all projects it has implemented. BOTAŞ proudly represented our country in the Green World Awards in 2020, with its environmental policies and the importance it attaches to sustainability, energy management and energy efficiency works.
At the 2020 Green World Awards, BOTAŞ was awarded 2 Gold, 3 Silver and 1 Bronze Green World Awards. In this context;
With “Improvement of Türkiye’s Air Quality Project”:
• Golden Award in Environmental Policy category
• Silver Award in Pollution and Emission Control category
With "Environmental Good Practices at BOTAŞ Project ":
• Golden Award in Sustainability category
• Silver Award in Energy Management category
With “Increasing Energy Efficiency Project”
• Silver Award in Waste Management category
• Bronze Award in Carbon Reduction category
In addition, BOTAŞ was entitled to receive 4 Green Apple Awards, 2 with the Environmental Good Practices Project and 2 with the Energy Efficiency Project in the Green Apple Awards 2020, which is another award organization organized by The Green Organization.
BOTAŞ has also been awarded the title of "Green World Ambassador of the Year 2020" with its achievements within the scope of these awards.
The award ceremony, planned to be held in London on 23 November 2020, has been postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
