The Trans Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) by taking over the Azerbaijan natural gas from South Caucasus Pipeline (SCP) at Posof, connects to TAP (Trans-Adriatic Pipeline ) at İpsala border of Greece and thereby forms the basis of the Southern Gas Corridor.
On 12 June 2018, the inauguration of the TANAP – Eskişehir Natural Gas Connection Line Project which is conducted to connect TANAP to BOTAŞ transmission system was held in Eskişehir thus its construction was completed. On 30 June 2018, the Phase-0 section, which will provide natural gas to Türkiye from Eskisehir has been completed and started to deliver natural gas to our country.
Construction works have been completed in the Phase-1 section of the project between Eskişehir Edirne/İpsala and the Opening Ceremony of the European Connection was held on 30 November 2019. The supply of natural gas to Europe is started commence within 2020.
